There are few video games that have nestled their way into pop culture quite like Call Of Duty. Thanks to being made by three different developers, the events of Call Of Duty's lore take place across not two, or even three different self-contained universes… but five. After the original World War II set Call Of Duty games, there is a Black Ops timeline; then there's the Modern Warfare Trilogy timeline; and, as of last year, there is also the fact that the Modern Warfare timeline has been retconned thanks to the entirely new story told in the Modern Warfare 2019 reboot.
